original document . Vellum recovery dated 1760 25th June. the reign of george ii ... the house of hanover large elaborate recovery document relating to christopher cooke and francis whittaker. bearing an oval portrait of king george ii ( 7” x 7.5”) set in a large ornate calligraphic letter “g” decorated with scroll work . the remainder of the border (4.5” deep ) is artistically decorated with roman figures, flowers, a lion and unicorn, finished with a large thistle. the side borders (2" wide) containing artistic scroll work of birds and figures written in english in calligraphic text. documented whittaker and cooke but with no wax seal. usual browning commensurate with age, otherwise good condition for a document 250 years old. unframed size 35" x 27” framed size 44" x 32"
